Angry Ping is awefull.... No point in trying. Please Help.

All joking aside...

I used to be with PlusNet..... i have no complaints with those.... my connection for gaming was great... no lag what so ever.

Now after changing to sky(I had no choice in the matter), the connection has been far less than any expectation.... on World of Warcraft, when i check ping it ranges from 500ms to 700ms(PlusNet worked fine).

I have done a ping test .... Not the worst but still no pint in gaming.

Pinging bbc.co.uk [212.58.224.138] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from: 212.58.224.138 bytes=32 in 70 ms TTL=128
Reply from: 212.58.224.138 bytes=32 in 68 ms TTL=128
Reply from: 212.58.224.138 bytes=32 in 70 ms TTL=128
Reply from: 212.58.224.138 bytes=32 in 69 ms TTL=128

I use wireless, with PlusNet again it was FINE.... no problems.... all hardware is the same apart from router and micro filter.... same pc.... everything.

i have never had such a poor service in my life.....

Can anyone help please.... if any specific info is needed please tell me what...

Thanks for your time.

Hi can you confirm you are on Sky Mid/Everyday it is just that the connection speed Upstream of 448kbps is the Sky connect package which is a Bt re-badge product you could look at your my Sky account and see what package it is showing.

If you are on Sky Connect you are screwed!!!

Have a look at some f the threads on here regarding it but the bottom line is that the only cure is to move to another ISP, I would recommend Plusnet for gaming

I don't know why you have moved from Plusnet to Sky Connect, but it was a bad move, unless your exchange is being upgraded by Sky very soon.

Your stats on Sky LLU would easily give you 20Mb, but on Connect, during the peak times especially, you are going to suffer very badly from throttling.

Hi I have looked at your exchange Thornley NETL and there are no ISPs supplying LLU so you are definitly on Sky Connect. So if you were sold Sky Mid/Everyday you should contact Sky and ask why.

Hi there is one certain fact it will get bad as the connect package is no good for on line gaming as other connect threads have reported the issue is very little bandwidth and sky are not going to purchase anymore. so you have not joined the 1kbps yet
