    New to Xbox live

    This is a discussion on New to Xbox live within the Gaming on Sky forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; oh ok just thought id check heh...

      I've used (non) Solwise 85mbps plugs since Christmas to link up the Xbox and they were fine for gaming but the test within Windows Media centre only showed three bars.

      Just upgraded to a 'cheap' (45 a pair of Amazon) of 200mbps Net-X homeplugs. Simply unplugged the old ones and plugged these in. The difference is very noticable. Windows Media centre now happily displays a full set of bars in the test and its performance is excellent.

      Basically for the price it's not worth getting 85mbps any more.

      Agreed, at one time the 200 type were double the cost, now there is little difference. Don't even consider the 14mbps type, these were fine with dial up but are next to useless with broadband and streaming media.
