do you mean the other sockets?
I mean all the other sockets in your house.

is it normal that when you switch the router on it stays on the standby light for about 20 seconds before switching to green?
Yes, that is the time it takes to negotiate with and connect to the exchange. It can take much longer in some cases. It is impossible for any router to make an immediate connection.

The phone isn't in it, the phone is downstairs in a different test socket.

Your only real solution is to depart from Connect

      Re: Disconnections/Dropouts

All you can do is ask whoever you pay the phone rental to if they can check your line for faults. You could also ask Sky if the will do a broadband check on your line as it is continually dropping out, but they are never keen to do this as it is very costly.

      Re: Disconnections/Dropouts

I am not sure what you mean, but no matter what package you are on you will still have the same line, so there is little likelihood of anything being different.

So why would i change from connect if there's little likelihood of it being different?

      Re: Disconnections/Dropouts

If you change to another ISP there may be more chance of them taking an interest in your getting your line fixed. Sky are obviously not bothered.
