Try using https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 to check your ports. Your Xbox will have to be connected when you do the test or the ports will be shown as closed or stealthed.

cheers isitme again for a reply very useful link for someone like me when it comes to computers!
It stated ports 88+2074 status were stealth with 88 kerberos and 2074 being vortel vmf sa and 3074 the xbox game port what does this mean is 88 and 2074 closed?

      Re: lag when hosting

No it just means that they could not be seen. This could be because they were not actually in use at the time you checked. You should be OK

I could be wrong but I think kerberos is the protocol that authenticates the connection, once this is done it would revert to 'Stealth mode' until required again.

vertel vmf sa is the application that lets you speak over your connection, if you were not actually using it, it would also stay stealthed until required.

      Re: lag when hosting

I get you, guess I'll keep backing out of games with bad lag. Still cant understand why the screen jumps all over the place when I host though.
