      Problem with Gaming

Unfortunately, while this may be answered in another thread somewhere, I can't exactly look as the connection is working so poorly right now.

Essentially, the problem is. No matter what game I play, whether WoW, Warrock, NWN 2, the second I start playing the game all other functions of my pc just slow altogether.

For example, I can be using X-Fire and Warrock, then all of a suddenly I start lagging completely.. I'm unsure the exactly delay amount, but I'm guessing judging from how most of those games went, its possibly over ten seconds or so.

With the previous provider, this problem never existed. Download speeds were slower, but it didn't destroy gaming completely.

I apologize straight away, if I'm reviving the same old topic that you may/may not have answered countless times over. But the question is, is there a fix? I mean, its been less then a week then its started happening, and if I remember.. we've got it for 12 months. So there must be a way to fix it, right?

I too have similar problems, i have Sky Connect and its ridiculous, to my knowledge its the most expensive one they offer as its the only one i could get and after 5:20PM i can't do anything, Youtube videos never buffer, Xfire doesn't connect, Ventrilo doesn't connect, i can only browse the internet, if i have to log in to something it takes years! Only MSN seems to work fine....but Games etc.... no go

to NAT562 your on connect which is horribly oversubscrivbed and has major league throttling on it duing "peak" times and it is not suitable for games.

to xMellox can you give us the stats from the router and your PC specs as it may be ISP or possibly just a PC problem.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

By this I mostly mean, if I've PKR up in one window, and I find myself chatting to someone on skype.. the connection itself seems to suffer entirely with the game up. This means, I can send a message or two through it, but it'll simply say "2 messages failed to deliver" until five or ten minutes later. Also, as a game is run, if I'm experiencing lag in this, and I'm browsing at the same time.. Firefox suffers from the same thing. If the game is down however, the internet seems to run smoothly.

Yeah, I'm using wireless. But we've four PC's in our house, and the Router would be under the staircase. ^_^; Thus using a moving all of the computers into a single room with the router and using the cables isn't a solution for us. But thanks for your reply!

      Re: Problem with Gaming

There is a simple solution for wireless as wireless is complete knackers, and that's a Homeplug, that's what i use and has eliminated the use of my wireless and I'm really far away from my router.
