      Re: Max delays reduced still no better HELP!!!

      I rang up sky and they ran tests saying there is nothing wrong with my connection and that sky can't configure servers on certain games although I got the distinct impression that the girl I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about but I am gonna give up and assume that sky broadband is just not suitable for playing online first person shooters such as battlefield 2 etc.

      Thanks a lot everyone who has tried to help me it was much appreciated

      Re: Max delays reduced still no better HELP!!!

      Try your stats again, if they say your line is OK they must have fixed it. Also do a speed test at Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester and post these as well. Do not give up your speed is diabolical and can be easily fixed.

      SNR (dB): 33.0 20.5
      Attn(dB): 50.0 28.5
      Pwr(dBm): 0.0 12.6
      Max(Kbps): 3304 584
      Rate (Kbps): 269 412

      From your last stats the figures in red indicate that your connection is very heavily capped, whether Sky admit it or not. When you phone Sky you would be better not to mention gaming at all, Most of Tier 1 will not know what you are taking about and will just become confused. You want your speed fixed first, then you can sort out your gaming. You don't have to be specially configured for a particular server.

      Re: Max delays reduced still no better HELP!!!

      heres the results of sky speed test

      download = 3368kbps
      upload = 341kbps

      I'm considering changing from sky the problem when ringing them up is that i probably know less than they do so I cant explain the problem well enough and when they tell me things back I dont have the knowledge to know whether theyve understood what my problem is.

      Its a shame i cant just send them to this forum page or send my fist down the phone (just kidding).

      Re: Max delays reduced still no better HELP!!!

      So they have done something, your speed has increased more than ten fold, but there may still be room for improvement. Post your detailed stats again.

      The decision whether to leave or not is yours, but there are many gamers on Sky LLU connections who are very satisfied with there gaming performance. Your speed is now reasonable and your delays are low, if you are still experiencing difficulties then it is probably your PC.

      You said earlier "my anti virus is Super Antivirus free" I have never heard of this anti virus and while researching it, several trojans attempted to enter my PC. I would advise you to download and run -
      Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com.
      and
      SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware!

      Before you run these, turn off System Restore, re-enable it when complete.

      Between them they will remove almost all malware, you should do this as a matter of urgency, as if you do have malware present it will only increase.

      I would also recommend you use Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home Edition it is one of the better free antivirus programs available.

      Re: Max delays reduced still no better HELP!!!

      i had a trojan horse a few weeks back i had these problems before i got it and after i cleaned it.

      to clean it i used ccleaner on all users including administrator followed by superantiscan then malwarebytes anti malware then combofix then mgtools my computer is as clean as clean can be as i run a antivirus scan on a twice weekly basis now.

      i hope it is something with my computerbecause it means that it can be fixed but all forums, computer shops friends everyone ive spoke to have no suggestions apart from that it must be my service provider.

      if it is my computer tho im free for any suggestions on what i can do

      The only way to be sure is to format the drive and start again

      You must find a difference, you speed must have increased by more that 12 times. Your sync speed may be even higher.
      If you post your stats we will be able to confirm if your connection is now as it should be.
