      Re: broadband speeds for gaming

Im connected by ethanet cable to the xbox so i guess there's nothing more I can do for hosting as I've already had my max delays reduced to 8. Each time I do a speed test on speedtest.net and speedio I get a massive variation on speeds even speeds I cant get in this area and after taking onboard the advice of you knowledgeable ones I dont take any notice of those results any more I only put them in because everyone else does!
Thanks for all your help uptil now getting the speeds sorted though!

the sky user speed test seems to be a lot better than the 2 you mentioned.

Yes this speed test seems a lot more consistent, that said I think speed varies a fair bit depending on how many people are on line. What makes a difference to your speeds the amount of users using your exchange or the amount of users using your provider or the amount of users just connected to the net or the amount of downloading being done?
my speeds below are from the sky speed test the download is always pretty simular although the upload varies from 361kbps to 531kbps anyone know why the upload varies or is it just depending on how many other people are uploading at that time?

can I get any more upload speed?

upload tests tend to be a little bit more inaccurate for what ever reason.
