I don't know if you have done this before, but If you are not running Vista, go to DrTCP, link below, do the Tweak test then download the application to apply its recommendations.

      Re: broadband speeds for gaming

Tried to run the tweak test when it asks for the service is it DSL, it comes up with a recommendation after i fill in what i believe is correct but when i click download i just get redirected to the link screen but none of the information in the right hand box has been added it just loks exactly the same as when i connect to the screen. How do i know if anythings worked? Is rebooting just turning the computer off and back on?

When you do the tweak test on the website, click start test then when the test is finished click show results which is right at the side of start test and it should then show the page with what it recommends.

      Re: broadband speeds for gaming

Rebooting is just restarting your PC. It might have been better if I had recommended TCPOptimiser, link below. It is easier to set up, download it and do the following -

1.Slide the bar to 8000kbps (This is your maximum with G.DMT)
2.Use the drop down box to select "Modify all adapters"
3.Choose "Optimal settings" from the radio-buttons near the bottom of the program
4.Click on the "Apply changes" button
      5.Restart your PC

DrTCP allows more control over what you are doing, but it is a bit more difficult to use.

      Re: broadband speeds for gaming

Just been reading some forums so thought id give this speed test a go, what a result (for me) download and upload speeds look good. my pings are not that high but when i was on mid they were usually about 32-36 now on max they are above 50 this is when i ping google from the cmd screen could I have had my maximum delays upped because of upgrading I had had them lowered to 8 when I was on mid?
