I just recently switched back to PC after using Mac OSX for a few years. The spec on my Macbook Pro was less than my current Dell laptop which is running Vista. I played World of Warcraft on my MBP and as long as I didnt overdo the graphics it was always smooth (apart from the big cities).

I've noticed after playing WoW on my Dell laptop that there is (what appears to be) network latency bad enough to make the game jerky and almost unplayable. I'm getting pings between 80-250ms and a pretty steady 50-60 fps.

Could there be some settings in Vista that I need to configure?. I'm beginning to think maybe I've been a bit spoilt using Mac OSX which does everything without much fuss.

I've tried rebooting my router, but that had no effect. My router stats are...

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 24.0 db 16.0 db
Noise Margin 14.3 db 13.0 db

I did a speedtest at speedtest.net and I'm getting 7.4 mbs down and 335 mbs up with a ping of 125ms.

Do I need to speak to Sky, is there anything you think they can do ?
