@Smithy - is it just a contact sky job for the delays to be reduced? If so i will just wait until the dlm is done with....

ps - only up the road from you *waves*

What is your ping like now? I think DLM/ADSL2+ automatically sets the delay to 8, at least I noticed a dramatic improvement in the ping when mine was done. From 50+ to mid 30s. Not that it bothers me as I don't game on line

I don't think you have much to worry about. If your line has to be manually configured when DLM training finishes, you might have to ask for the delays to be reduced. I think manual configuration returns it to default, but don't worry about it, it can be fixed easily.

      Re: High(ish) Ping

Sky is so variable with customers experience with gaming, some people like myself was very good and quite a few others was very bad.

Although I was seeing high-ish pings when on Sky (40-50 ms to jolt) moving to O2 LLU saw a drastic reduction.

I think the easynet infrastructure isn't so well set up for games which sort of fits in with Sky's model of just web browsing and email.

But unless you see horrible lag and frequent disconnections you should be able to game fine (I did for almost 2 years) on Sky.

      Re: High(ish) Ping

i dont think sky is bad for gaming,if you get through to somene in cst they seem to bend over backwards to get your line and ping sorted for gaming, did for me anyway.they even rang back over a week just to check everything was ok.
i used to have mega fast bb with virgin but xbox live was terrible.glad to say with sky i must be one of the lucky ones cos its 100%.
