20/30 secs to buffer streamed MP3's to PS3

      Hi

I am trying to stream MP3's from my PC wirelessly to PS3 but the results are not good. My PC in upstairs whilst my PS3 is downstairs. I have tried both WMP & Tversity but results are the same...it takes an age to play a track & then ages again between each track..sometimes taking 30 secs !!

I have turned off all Firewalls but am at a lose on how to improve

      Any ideals

      Thanks

If your internet connection is not usually that slow, I would suspect your wireless is working badly. Try changing channels.

However if you want to eliminate that possibility once and for all, try connecting the PS3 to your router via a cable or if that isn't convenient, use Homeplugs.

PS - Probably best to turn your firewalls back on. Chances are that if it works at all with the firewalls on, this isn't the problem. All you are doing is making your PC vulnerable to nasties inside your local network.

      .

      Many thanks

Is changing changes just a case of going into 192.168.0.1 & changing the channel in SET UP ??

Yes, try channel 13 first this seems to be less used than some of the others. Better still buy a couple of homeplugs and do it properly
