Fast Path on Connect

Hi, I have found this site very informing and I have seen many posts regarding fast path on connect, some say you can get it others say that Sky will not ask BT to change the line configuration.

I would like to know if anyone has managed to get fastpath on Sky Connect, or equally, if you have requested it and been refused.

I have signed up for Sky BB but it has not yet been activated so I am within my cancellation period, I'm wondering if I might be better off cancelling now and going with another ISP who will turn off the interleaving.
I would prefer to stay with Sky but my main reason for having Broadband is for online PS3 gaming.

Re: Fast Path on Connect

When I was on connect, admitedly nearly 2 years ago now, fastpath was the default. Whether its since changed, I'm not sure.

Re: Fast Path on Connect

I can't see why you're that worried tbh, even with a line that is interleaved I get better ping times than most of the people on Virgin fibre optic.

Re: Fast Path on Connect

because in the evenings i currently get pings to bbc averaging around 150 with some hops taking over 200 in the day time it is around 70.

sometimes on call of duty 4 it can take 10mins to even get into a game and then when i do only 30% of my shots register.
I have given up playing past 5pm (i'm at work 'till then) which seems like a waste of £800 for a ps3 & new tv. playing on-line it the main reason i bought it, and these problems are the main reason i am switching isp.

Re: Fast Path on Connect

interleve is default on Connect now - although a request can be put through to get it changed...don't know the success rate though, depends on BT tbh...

if the line isn't already syncing at 8Mbps they tend to leave it...
