Another max delay thread.

Hi i phoned sky several months ago to asky if my max delay could be turned off (if that is what they do) and he did it at the time over the phone. My ping times went from 40+ ms to about 27ms when pinging some places and live gaming seemed better to. Lately though i have been pinging the same places as i used to and noticed my pings have increased at times to around 36ms which is still lower than it was before i had max delay disabled. I have noticed my xbox live gaming is more laggy than it used to be though. Do i have problems somewhere is it worth contacting sky ?

Re: Another max delay thread.

Well you may want to do a few checks on your PC first to make sure the issue is not of your making. Where are you pinging to and what are the results? Traceroutes are more useful than pings to see where issues lie.

Re: Another max delay thread.

Hi i am pinging Jolt.co.uk - Online Gaming - Clan Server Rental and BBC - Homepage I usually get 27ms from them but at times it can about double. I am not sure what a Traceroutes is or how to do one.
