Getting my max delay reduced

Hi there I'm thinking of trying to get my max delays reduced. This is the second time I'll have tried (the first time I asked them through their online form and they reduced my sinc to 10 meg so I just phoned them and got them to put it back up). The question I have is do sky always reduce your sinc speed when they do this?

Here is the stats off my router.

System Up Time: 12:48:14
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 1296110 1921061 0 2228 58095 12:47:23

Re: Getting my max delay reduced

not at all, although whoever put your sync back up did so incorrectly as your upstream is over Sky's top amount...

best to call and speak to CST direct as they can do it then and not drop sync...

Re: Getting my max delay reduced

A lot of the time when max delays are reduced, sky will lower your sync speed to maintain stability, as having the delays lowered can lead to more errors.
Try calling support and blagging your way through to CST so they can make the adjustments while you're on the phone to them. That way you should be able to have your max delays set to 8, and maintain the highest sync speed that will keep your line stable.

Talking Re: Getting my max delay reduced

LOL. I just phoned sky. Spent 30 mins on the phone with 1st lvl support trouble shooting. Then got put through to a nice guy who knew a bit about broadband and found out that my max delays where already reduced to 8 (was done when they reduced my line sinc to 10 meg). He noticed my line wasn't configured properly though and here is my new stats after.

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 15757 21962 0 1651 29943 00:15:57
LAN 100M/Full 619 0 0 74 0 00:34:33
WLAN 11M/54M 31229 25451 0 17604 1489 00:34:19
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16283 kbps 671 kbps
Line Attenuation 22 db 5 db
Noise Margin 10 db 19 db

He lowered my upstream down to what its supposed to be. The moral of this is if you don't have problems don't phone them you may loose something LOL.

Here is my tracert to jolt. I thought it was high which is why I thought my delays where still at 32.
