thx for all the replies, will the upload on the max be effected by my distance from exchange i.e, as i cant get 16mb D/load, will i get a reduced upload?
Nope you will get the maximum speed (that your line can handle) down and the maximum 768 up

do i have to ask sky to lower Max_delays when i order,
Once you have been connected you would do this step.

Distance from exchange shouldn't reduce the upload speed. Well an speed of 764 anyway.

do i have to ask sky to lower Max_delays
This can be done by sending them a quick e-mail once your BB has been activated and up and running.

Re: Thinkin of moving to sky

There are loads of us who play online games, with no issues whatsoever. In fact we even have a dedicated website. Sky User Clan

Granted though, we have all had our Max_Delays lowered. My average ping is about 36 and on our Ventrilo server it is about 40.

Re: Thinkin of moving to sky

well thats good to know, online gaming is wot i use connection for mostly, i do have a few friends who are on sky, without any problems, but they dont live in my area.
its always a worrie about changing isp, incase the grass isnt greener on the other side.,,, ect.
as long as its no worse than bt (at times) i could be on a winner, due to price and speed increase
