Ping increase -- No changes to settings

I've recently had my latency increase from around 25ms to around 45-55ms. I haven't changed any settings and really don't know why they have increased. As a side-note, I know that 45-55 is not so bad for most people but because I am currently spending a large amount of time playing competetive gaming I have found this increase to be noticeable.

I have not changed any settings recently and so was shocked when the increase occured. I am aware that I get quite a large build up of errors based on my CRC values. I have spent a good amount of time looking into what the problems could be but I already have my connection directly interfaced to the test socket and have had my max delays reduced to 8 (apparently). I'm going to put down my router statistics (I have the V1 router) and if anyone can see anything apparent from the details that can be altered I would be very grateful. If not I'm going to give them a call tomorrow ^_^

Btw. I am really not fussed with the speed of my connection and understand that 48.0 is a relatively large attentuation, the main thing that I need is a very low-latency and preferably stable connection

Looks like you may have been DLM'd.
      Saying that I've never seen D 384,8.
You may have to give Sky a call and speak to CST.

Re: Ping increase -- No changes to settings

thankyou for reply, I am definitely going to call them tomorrow. sorry but what is DLM?

EDIT: Another increase has occured :S its gone up to around 60-65 now. I also thought I'd add that this only seems to have occured since last night but I have been checking it recently and it has not dropped to below 45 since then.

Re: Ping increase -- No changes to settings

Well it seems i certainly am on DLM and that apparently 3:45 AM is a good time to ring customer services. Just got to wait til 21st and the line should be "better" apparently, don't hold out much hope but if it is the "same" as before that would work just fine for me

Yeh the guy i spoke to said that it will change pretty much any setting, he did however say that once the DLM is completed he can change max delays back to 8 whichll be good ^_^, Oh and if you notice your D figure thats exactly the same as mine "D: 384 8" which i guess is them playing around with the interleave depth

They key changes that I have noted is that i usually have one disconnect at around 2:20 AM everyday, whether this was to do with my connection or any other factors it has stopped since the DLM has started. My max possible speed seems to have increased by a meg or so and often increases over the daytime (not sure whether this usually occurs but I am pretty sure I have always been able to get six and now its arouns 7.5). My ping increase seems to flit about and sometimes in game my ping reduces to a nice 25ms but regularly shows in Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test as being around 65-70.

The first thing that i noticed about the changeover was a strange change in the D figure (which i think is the interleave depth) for the ADSL2 frame, which is not at "384 4", im not entirely sure what this means in terms of my connection but it is markedly different from most other stats. In terms of my CRC I have noticed much more stable figures as previously my CRC was around 3-5% of my SF and now it is staying at around 0.05% and my LOS has decreased as well. I'm not sure whether my line seems that much different, however the line has been very stable. I do not however remember very many crashes during the day and I would certainly notice as I amd usually gaming online for around 12 hours a day. The one thing that am hoping to get out of this is to have my max delays reduced at the end of the DLM process so as to get a lower ping than i had previously.

I hope this is of use to someone at least
