Before I get Max delay set to 8...

...is there any checks that I can make my end to ensure that I will still have a stable connection once it has been changed?

I have started to play on line games (well only supreme commander), I can see pings when I play with other players ranging between 90 - 130ms. Although I am still able to play SUPCOM, and things look fine, I have been told that when I start to play FPS (mainly COD4, and crysis), the ping issue will be more of a problem.

Is there anything I can do my end to reduce the ping time? I am guessing not.

      Thanks

Not really. If you have the V1 router you could check your line errors as any you have will get worse.

My understanding is that Sky will do this when they change the interleave settings and will cap the line to remove errors if they are a problem - though from recent posts I have a suspicion they are capping lines anyway "just in case".

      Thanks for the reply.

Can I send an email, rather than waiting on the telephone for 20 mins? If so, has anybody got the email address, I can use?

      Thanks.

Re: Before I get Max delay set to 8...

This has been done, a week ago. I now get a ping time of around 28ms to the bbc!!! Have not noticed a drop in speed either. Although I am sure that it may have dropped abit. I did run a speed test, just cant remember what speed I got. I think it was around the 5MB mark....not bad since I am on the mid package.

Now its SupCom all the way!!!
