      Sky Users blocked out of Xbox Marketplace.

      Not really about gaming but as it's about the Xbox 360, I'll put it here.

      It has been reported by a couple of Sky Broadband users on the official Xbox forums that the new Video Marketplace will not work for them.

      They get a message saying that they are not in the UK and are unable to download the film, AOL users in the UK are also getting the same message.

      Does this mean that Sky Broadband is still not recognised by MS as an UK ISP? I had a similar problem earlier this year when my sky email address was unable to send mail to a hotmail account for similar reasons.

      Are sky aware that MS seem to be blanking them, although with now over 1million customers MS must be potentially shooting themselves in the foot by not allowing legitimate UK users access to this new video rental service.
      (Personally I think the whole thing is overpriced so I won't be using it anytime soon anyways.)

      I am able to use it fine. No problems.

      It could be down to ; 5xxxxxxx.bb.sky.com but again, It works for me.

      Its been used in my house too ... it is possible though that some still identify it as outside the U.K., I know I can use Pandora.com when I shouldn't be able to ...

      Probably wise to tell MS to update their GEOIP databases, the latest one shows me as being in the U.K.

      lol, just found something quite interesting ... I was working on a script for someone, its a comment system and they wanted it so that when somebody posts a comment their country flag appears next to it so you know where they are from, well I made the script and thought it was working. I posted a test comment from my computer and no flag appeared, so I spent ages trying to find the problem part of the script, turns out the script was fine ... the GeoIP database was out of date and so they couldn't track my IP down, it seems therefore that Sky/Easynet have bought up some more IPs recently as the IP database I was using was only a month or two old, updating to December's edition worked and it now shows me as being in the UK.

      I'd have thought a company like Microsoft would keep up to date, it takes like 2 minutes to update the GeoIP database - you need only replace a file!

      My IP now is in the 90.208.204.*** range, perhaps they are new ...

      I find X-box Live marketplace with sky broadband is very tempremental, one minute I am able to download videos, the next i'm not. I really can't tell what the problem is!

      However, I have recently noticed though, that if i attempt to check up on where my IP address is located, i either get London or a "unknown country". Any ideas on what is causing this, or is this something to do with GeoIP

      As stated above it looks like Sky are adding new IP ranges all the time and these haven't got onto the latest GEOIP updates or that companies like MS haven't got their systems updated.

      Considering all the problems that MS are having with Live at the moment you'd thought they could have got their databases up to date/
