Re: To get max delay reduced dont bother with online form

Just to clarify - Tier 3 had indeed simply capped the line speed to match what the availability checker reports (5Mbps). I wasn't told why this happened, but I'm guessing that if you email support asking for max delays to be lowered, and Tier 3 then action it during the night (when you're not downloading etc.), they obviously can't determine whether the connection is stable so cap it to whatever they believe you should get judging by your line length.

I think the way to go about future 'max delays' requests is to call up, as speaking to someone will undoubtedly provide a happier support experience than emailing!

I'm now synced back up at 10200/768kbps and the connection feels extremely snappy

Ping seems to still be around 45-50 though via Speedtest.net so, will give a day or so then test again, just need to sync my router up now.

What sync speeds and stats are you getting with that? Interesting that they are not setting everyone to 8/8!

Can you remember what the sync speed was like before the change? It doesn't look like Sky applied any speed cap when changing the max delays on your line, which is good!

Tbh it all seems to be the same atm, was approx 6.8Mbs before so, doesn't look to have changed at all.

Ping seems to still be same also so, 47 before & 45 now??

Re: To get max delay reduced dont bother with online form

Hmm, that's odd. Decreasing max delays from 32 to 16 should probably lower pings below 40ms at least. Possible Sky hasn't done it yet? Strange...
