    High ping rate

    This is a discussion on High ping rate within the Gaming on Sky forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; I dont know m8 i'm lost now best to see if a mod replies with some help as you say ...

      I dont know m8 i'm lost now best to see if a mod replies with some help as you say you get a good ping on a 2mb connection(Cable - NTL) but not on a 6mb conenction(BT - Sky) basically. So maybe it is your max delays which need changing but only sky can change thoes through the exchange(you'd need to ring support up and create a ticket up with tier 1 and say your getting slow speed, then finally when they put you through to tier 3 with a ticket you say i'm get slow speeds whilst gaming i'd like my max delay turned down on my line please)

      Yeah - I had low pings with my last ISP, and then high ones with Sky - I don't think its anything to do with the speed...there's a thread on this board about what to do, I followed it and it worked

      Hi,

      I am also an online gamer.

      There is a simple fix to your sons issues.

      (1) Phone Sky Broadband Tech Support,

      (2) Ask To Speak To Tier2

      (3) Ask The Tier2 Agent to log a request on their ECO system to remove (interleaving) from your line, When they log this request BT will do it in 3/5 days time, This will increase your ping times.
