Freesat from Sky moving home and BT Sport use

Is it possible to add BT Sport (free from BT with broadband as opposed to anything else) to a Freesat from Sky card?

I have not used the box and card for a few months as I moved home so I also presume I'll have to register the box and card at the new home.

Thanks in advance for any help.

      Hi bryan.

Yes, you can add bt sport with a freesat from sky card.

The card must still be active, paired with the box & all registered at your current address.
A quick call to sky will see that done within a few minutes.

      Hi,

Thanks for that. I had phoned Sky this morning having eventually found the number to call. The person I spoke to was unsure what to do after discovering the card wasn't on the system. Eventually she asked me for 25 for a new card. I asked her apart from BT Sport what would a new card offer me as you can get most free channels without a card in the box. She was unable to tell me the answer to that question and didn;t seem very interested in finding the answer.

I was *****ed off that the card wasn't on the system and didn't think it worth paying 25 at this point in time. On reflection with a Freesat card it can be hard to know if the card is active or not as so many channels work anyway.

The channels you can receive without a viewing card are called free to air.
The channels you need a viewing card for are called free to view.

A comprehensive list of current FTV channels can be hard to find, but this one seems to be up to date:
List of Channels on Sky - TV Channel Lists
      It lists 157, 181, 323, 324, 360 & 447.
      There may be others.

The other advantage in having a viewing card is that the relevant BBC & ITV channels will be the correct region.

thanks very much for that, there isn't much worth paying 25 for especially having Freeview as well for the correct region channels. I'm not surprised Sky don't train their operatives to tell you what channels you get with a viewing card on Freesat from Sky....

The Freesat from Sky TV channels are listed at:

FREESAT from Sky. What can I watch?

though it doesn't differentiate between free to air and free to view.

And still lists Liverpool FC TV & Men & Movies so is quite out of date.
