Sharing Sky Dish between Sky+ box and EyeTV Sat

Hello, planning on buying an EyeTV Sat which allows me to watch free-to-air satellite channels on my Mac.

But will the signal quality get worse when we share the dish with the Sky+ box and EyeTV or not?

It should not, unless you were planning to use a splitter on one of the Sky+ feeds. You will need a cable back to the dish. If you have Sky+ you will probably have a quad LNB, so you should have a spare port.

      Oh ok great.

Our dish is a quad and has 2 free ports so we'll be using one of those. Thanks for the help!

Also the EyeTV USB has the function to record, if the Sky+ box does it with two cables from the dish, how can the EyeTV do it with one? hmm

It will only record the channel you are watching, the Sky+ uses two feeds so it can record two seperate channels/frequencys.
