You will not get on line if you are not connected to the phone line. What you have read is how to obtain the password from the Hub using Wireshark to allow you to use your own router. Thanks to marjohn56 who compiled this method Simple tool for extracting the username and password from YOUR router. using wireshark is no longer necessary.

Note that although the correct password is no longer required for fibre, it is still required for ADSL.

Hello mate, thanks for that. I did read marjohn56's thread, the only problem is running his tool under MAC environment. Installed Mono and run "mono" in Terminal while the router turned off and Ethernet cable connect with WAN port, somehow it doesn't work.

      Did I miss anything?

I don't have a Mac so can't test it but I would think you will have to power on the router at some stage.

      Maybe Marjohn56 can help?

Re: Help for getting SR102 password by MAC

Never tested it with a 102, I never possessed one - or a Mac. Someone did try it with a Mac and Mono and said it worked. Maybe easier in this case to use the password generator, I assume that still works. However you connect up as you have, then you switch on the router and wait. The program picks up the dchp request packets being sent out on the wan port and extracts the details from those packets. Router off = no packets.

p.s. you'll also have unplugged the adsl cable too. It was designed for ftcc but should work.
