How to get the Username and Password for the Sky Hub SR101

It has been discovered that the Username and password for the SR101 and 102 can be found by using the online calculators instead of Wireshark. These can be found here - https://www.cm9.net/skypass/ and here - Sky BB Pasword Calculator Use the settings for the Sagem F@st, remembering it is the LAN MAC address which is required.

This is work in progress, in the meantime, you can find all the information in the original thread.

Sky Hub S101 Username And Password Attempt

We will add links to the different methods of how to use with another router, once we have collated all the information together.

      Notes:

      These notes assume the following as well as acting as a headsup;

      1) You are a little bit technical
      2) You can use Wireshark on your network
      3) Just word of warning for anyone on Windows 8, Wireshark does not currently work on Windows 8, so either use a xp/windows7 machine or alternatively download backtrack live linux cd which has the tool built in and boot from usb.
      4) If you are on Sky Fibre, and sky send you a SR101 router, you will have to use the mac/username password for that service. If sky sent you a Sagem 2504n then you will have to use the Sagem mac/user password.
      5) If virtual box works on windows 8 the vm dragon2611 posted will probably work with it...

      Regarding Wireshark on Windows 8

      1) download and install wireshark
      2) goto WinPcap Download and download the latest winpcap
      3) Right click on the winpcap installer, goto propeties > compatibility
      4) Set compatibility options to windows 7
      5) Install winpcap , Windows will complain that it is not compatible but select to run it anyway.

      6) run Wireshark as normal.

      Preparation and instructions

      1) You will need to download the following documents, the first Link is the PDF of the document, the second one is a ZIP containing the PDF but also a copy of the individual screenshots as they are sometimes a bit small in the PDF.

New location of PDF and Zip files: Index of /legacy/sky

      2) You will also need to use a program called wireshark, which can be found here.

      Wireshark Go deep.

      3) Using Wireshark (once downloaded) following the instructions found in step 1) get your Sky Hub Username and Password. If all has gone well, it should be in the format

      macaddress@skydsl|NLNNNNLN

The password is very short compared to the previous adsl routers (around 6-8 characters)

The following may also be of use.

macaddress@skydsl|password followed by 1.15h.2138.R|001|SR101|serial_number ("1.15h.2138.R" is the firmware version number).

The password is not precisely in the "NLNNNNLN" format that you described. From what I can see, the password is a 32-bit numeric value in hex format (i.e., 8 characters, or 4 bytes). I expect that your "NLNNNNLN" is simply 4 bytes in hex format (NL NN NN LN - e.g., 0a1737e1).

      4) You should now be ready to connect your own router, as you have the information required to use the Username and Password from a Sky Hub SR101 - Enjoy!

do we leave in all the extra symbols, i have a 0<%1 inbetween last digit of password and start of firmware version. Not to mention a |lllll@lllllll|lllllln=n format before the bit where my lan mac address@skydsl bit starts. thanks

Re: How to get the Username and Password for the Sky Hub SR101

Going to try this tonight. Silly question but will this method work on the SR101 using an ADSL configuration? Are the SR101's enabled for Fibre by default?

It should work when you initially power up the Sky Hub.

The default setting is 'Auto' which means that it will check both the ADSL and then Ethernet ports for a broadband connection.

Thankyou very much for the quick response. I will give it a go later :-)
