Even a ZTE blade was smooth using launcher pro and things like touchwiz and sense should be sent to hell, they are crap. I'm using go launcher ex on my nexus 4.

4.2.2 is rolling out, anyone got it yet?
Well it depends how much manufacturer's stuff has been bolted on. HTC's Sense UI even on the latest One X's is cumbersome enough to cause minor glitches. I too use a third party launcher (Nova) but they are featherweights compared with Sense, Touchwiz etc which are much more than launchers! I was upgrading my phone to be able to use Sky Go so rooting is out of the question and pure Android is really the only stock option to match the user experience I have been enjoying with rooted ROMs over the years.

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying the Nexus 4, I've heard nothing but good things about it. My only problem with it is no MicroSD Card slot, but apart from that it's a pretty nice little phone.

Well your experience is different to everyone else's especially if you are using nova.

Can't see the fuss about the lack of SD, fair enough I had to look carefully at what music I wanted to put on but let's be honest 4 GB is enough for most situations. I've got 6GB free which should be ok for a while

Well, I do like to be entertained when I'm on the go. So I tend to carry allot of music, videos, books and comics to keep me entertained while I'm on the move. That way I could use the internal memory storage for apps and games.

One member has reported that he has it on a Nexus 7 and it breaks SkyGo.

Which experience in particular? I am not saying JB is not a huge improvement - especially for HTC. You will find very few people who cannot see the effects of HTC Sense and its associated bloatware. Admittedly you it is nowhere near as bad on JB but almost every review mentioned slight lag when it was launched. Doesn't matter if you are using a different launcher - if you are on the stock, unrooted ROM then the tentacles will still be there wrapping themselves around every aspect of the GUI and beyond . As a test just pop into a phone shop. Have a OneX in one hand and Nexus 4 in the other. Flick through a few screens and apps for a few minutes and then tell me there are no micro-lags in Sense 4 .

That's to be expected of most apps and games, since developers don't have access to the latest version of android. Give it a few weeks, possibily months and I'm sure Sky will release an updated version of SkyGo which will be able to run on all versions of android up to the present version.

      Re: Nexus 4

Did you have to force the Android 4.3 upgrade or was it just a routine Google Play update? I have a 4 and 7 and don't think mine have updated yet (but will check!). Just checked and still 4.2.2.
