You do have to be careful with claiming back PPI, especially on credit cards as they will often bite you back by making a note on your account and then ramp up your APR further down the line if your card is still active. Often best to ditch the card once you have claimed back any PPI.

Re: Anyone claimed back their PPI payments?

I think this story was great:

BBC News - The cold call victim who fought back
Complaints about unsolicited calls and texts from sales and marketing companies have reached an all-time high.

But now one man has successfully claimed back the cost of his time from a firm which called him when he had specifically asked them not to.

Richard Herman from Middlesex felt like he was being hounded by calls and texts from companies telling him they could help him claim compensation after an accident or claim back money spent on mis-sold payment protection insurance, or PPI as it's known.

He hasn't had an accident; he's never taken out PPI.

And he's registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), which should stop unwanted sales calls.

So he decided to take action...
...So when he got off the phone, he sent an invoice for 195 to PPI Claimline...
...AAC, the company which had called Richard on behalf of PPI Claimline, paid him 195 for his time and electricity, as well as his 25 court costs...

I am going to get a headset and mic over the weekend.

Blummin element in oven had failed, so bought 2 new ones, for a tenner off eBay, fitting it today and I couldn't get the fan off. Off to B&Q spent 13 on a set of molegrips, then came home and promptly snapped the spindle. I had to buy a new motor / fan at a cost of 50 ish - It would have been far cheaper to pay for the repair done, instead of trying to save some money.

If anyone is thinking of doing this, then you must do so.

Another offer for just less than 1100 received this morning. Acceptance already sent back and it will be in my account within 28 days.
