Anything will do. So long as we get rid of the holes, and the people responsible for the mess. We stopped hanging criminals and corrupt officials in the Grassmarket a couple of hundred years ago. Such a pity.

Yes, they have destroyed one of the most beautiful streets in the country with their loony line.

As this thread is about cinemas, maybe they'll make a horror movie one day, and show it for free in Edinburgh's cinemas. How about Anthony Hopkins in "Silence of the Trams"???

AKA Tesco, Any Town, Anywhere. A concrete monstrosity. How they ever got away with building that hideous carbuncle instead of using the old Royal High School on Calton Hill is beyond me. Brown envelopes, or maybe just the inflated self-importance of Scottish politicians. A parcel o' rogues, the lot of 'em. . Incompetence writ large. Bring back hangings in the Grassmarket, I say.

Myself and my partner visit cinemas regularly.

I have recently been staying in London a lot to assist my aunt in looking after my ninety-one year-old nan. So my partner and I have had to visit cinemas local to the area of West London.

Anyway, straight to the point, is anyone else fed-up with the extortionate pricing in cinemas?

My partner and I visited the VUE in Staines. We ended up paying 15 for both of us to enter the showing and another 3.80 for one 'small coke'.

No wonder why people are waiting for films to either come out on DVD or downloading illegally from the internet.

So what are your guys views on the pricing etc?

The last film I watched cost 12.50 to book a seat, another 1.50 for the 3d glasses. I could have bought the blu-ray for less money than that, and I can watch that as many times as I like.

I won't even mention how much it cost to park the car.

Regular visits to the cinema? I can't afford it. I get a better picture on my HDTV and blu-ray too.
