Saw his news conference on the Beeb. I could swear I had seen it before, but then I remembered, it was some other 'god' called Kevin Keegan' that was doing it.

I think they need a manager with experience, not a BBC pundit, no matter how good he was on the field.

The difference is born and bred and dreams NUFC as all NUFC Supporters DO.
Each week we all say there is always the next game he could have waited till next season but he knows what ever help he can give he will I like the idea of Dowie giving support.

Cool Re: Shearer: the god willsave united:)

      Toon Toon B & W Army!!

Come what may, give the Toons leading, and one of Englands best goal scorers the chance to prove himself. Personality isn't essential, look at Mr Ferguson and Wenger. Boring as &%"

steesh, I wondered how long it would be before you popped up in this thread
I too have my reservations but hope I'm proved wrong, even tho the toon army would do wonders for the attendance at Deepdale.

Honestly, a few days ago, I thought relegation would do us good. Have a summer sale and get players who want to play decent football (without the ridiculous wages and with brain cells). But, perhaps now, we may have a chance. We'll see.

I'm always here Dholdi, maybe not as much, thanks to the puppie (the git). At last he is asleep!

Referees and linesmen after each game the leagues need an independent jury to watch all games and any mistakes should be deducted from their wages and too mistakes relegate to lower leagues. We don`t go to a match to watch the referees and linesmen as some must think. Moan out of the way. away the lads Come on next game 3 points would be good

It is easy sitting back in a chair watching instant replays and picking out mistakes. The ref has to make almost instant decisions and has only his assistants to rely on, who may actually have a worse view.
I have always thought a football ref should be able to call on an instant replay, if there was any doubt about a decision. The technology is there to allow this, even if only a set amount of appeals were allowed, something like the new rules in test cricket.

It is funny that 99 times out of a 100 it is the loosing team/supporters who complain about bad refereeing

No If modern players can be greats, Lineker and Owen would be my choices as greats, if you look at the goals / game ratio then Jimmy Greaves 44 goals in 57 games and Nat Lofthouse 30 in 33 games (comapred to Shearers 30 from 63 games) have much better records. It's not his record, it's his attitude the only contest Shearer and Dowie would win is a gurning competition.
