I dislike PCWorld, Currys, Dixons Etc.

I was going to post this last night but decided against as the language I had in mind would have resulted in multiple infractions, bans etc.
      Anyway onto the story :-
Once upon a time dholdi spotted a telly in one of the above stores that he really, really liked.
After convincing mrs holdi that it would be really nice for eastenders, emmerdale etc and the occasional xbox session after she had gone to bed we avoided the big bad wolf and made our way to the store to purchase,
Unfortunately, the tv was out of stock, but the salesman advised us to check the website daily and order via that when stocks where replenished.
      Disappointedly we trudged home.
I have since checked daily and 2 days ago the tv was available to order, delivery within 28 days, so I did.
The following day i received a call advising delivery would take place on the 30th.
Rolling round like a pig in smelly stuff I ebayed and ordered hdmi leads and cheap xbox games.
Yesterday i received a rather inpersonal email saying they had none in stock and my order was cancelled, but if iI wished to peruse their website for an alternative a link was included.
I called their Customer Diservices to complain, stating that :-

1 - If they have no stock then they should not display or advertise the product.
2 - Take orders for the product.
3 - Telephone and confirm a delivery date for a product they can't supply.

And this is the bit that really got my back up, the girl in CS's response wasnt the apology that you might expect but, and I quote was :-

" What do you expect me to do about it ? I can't send you something we havn't got "

Anyway rant over, just be aware when you are dealing with any of the above companies they are one and the same and they may be ok when things go well but if they dont then forget any help from CS.

      Hi Dave
Usually when you ring Customer services from the above stores you get through to the local store thats why some are tactless

I wouldn't spend a penny in Currys, even if I was desperate.

With stores going belly up at the moment I hope you did not consider leaving a deposit to secure the order. They could have gone bust and you would have lost it!! Currys/pc world/dixons must be having a hard time getting credit against projected sales to get stock from importers.

Pushy staff, poor product knowledge, prices not that good.
Never shop at PC Dixon's curry world.

Totally agree with the above and also there lack of knowledge on there products is bad esp computer wise.
I once needed a PCI sata card in a hurry so popped to PC world upon enquiring were they kept them there PC Technician told me there was no such thing, with a look of disbelief I just told him to go check maxtors site or google it and then walked out. I would never use that shop unless I was desperate

Certainly not, if they rang me and said they had one I'd tell them where to shove it

Re: I dislike PCWorld, Currys, Dixons Etc.

i was looking for a laptop for daughters birthday nearly 2 years ago, a good spec model was advertised at a really good price at pc world. local store no stock found a store 25 miles away with 2 in stock online, ordered reserve and collect, email to confirm purchase and given 24 hours to collect, went nextday to collect and sales assistant said sorry our stock records are wrong dont have it, enquired what they would do as i had come from so far she said sorry we dont have it and goodbye, asked for manager, he refused to see me but passed me to tech support supervisor, he agreed they did not have stock and were in the middle of a stock take but online reserve sysrem should not have taken order, again i asked so what happens i have a order for a laptop accepted and wasnt leaving without it, he then gave me the next model of similar or better spec at the same discounted price,
it took over 45 minutes to get what i wanted but would be wary in future purchases
went to feedback area of website but never got any reply from them

      so much for customer service
