Hmm... that first one has kind of fallen out of flavour whilst he is spending time at Her Majesty's pleasure.

The second video is perhaps a matter of taste. It's a song that several artists has sung and her rendition is quite different. The video is interesting though. There are shots in London and Brighton and a few other places too.

Yes, Mr Harris did I belive receive several threats of serious bodily harm amonst other things. Apart from his current sentence for being a perv I reckon he should serve another twenty for that 'song'.

Where artists have done and are currently residing have little to nothing to do with the quality of their art. It amazes me so many mediocre artists always want to cover songs that are waaay out of their skillset and try to do it exactly as the original. The whole point of a cover is to present an alternate incarnation of the idea, but in a good way, not a Kanye way.

A few years back, SWMBO and I spent a weekend at the Vineyard in Berkshire, it was a gift we were given, we don't usually spend the weekend in Spa hotels!

However whilst we ate dinner we had the pleasure of listening to an excellent pianist playing in the background, very nice. We left our table and headed for the bar area of the restaurant for an after dinner drink, we passed him and we complimented him on his playing, he thanked us and said if we had any requests he'd be happy to play anything. I being my usual self said 'How would you feel about Stairway to Heaven', thinking that would stop the 'anything' line... "OK" he said, "Go get your drinks and I'll play it in around ten minutes".

I have to admit, that I would have though it impossible to play 'Stairway' in its entirety on a piano without vocals and do it justice.... I was very wrong, as you said, it was an alternative to the original but done superbly.

We were amongst a few others in the bar of our own age group, going grey but not yet needing a zimmer, who all knew what the song was and were all taken aback by the arrangement; there was however, one younger couple, possibly in there early twenties who had obviously seen the look of astonishment on the faces of the 'older' group and asked "This is lovely, what it is it?", well, I almost choked on my brandy!

One of the worst I've heard in many years is this, just glad really that Jim Morrison was tucked up in Paris and not able to hear it.

Many say this comic relief version is bad, but I'm not so sure its all bad, there are a few good solo performances in there from both sides of the girl bands.

Sadly Lettuce, I've still got memories of the video she did for 'Baby one more time' lodged in my brain. Although it's still not illegal for men of my age ( or of the age I was when that came out in 1998 ) to wacth videos like that, it's not good for our blood pressure, but I agree, Britney's videos are far better with the sound level at zero.
