Regardless, it is still pointless, they will never have the technology to block every VPN/Proxy service out there especially as Marjon says, people who private VPN back to their own router in this country. Maybe they should put the whole thing behind paywall if they are that bothered, as I expect a lot of people don't even pay license fee now in this country and still watch. I pay my license fee so IDC if i need another account user/pass to remember and attach my license number to. That being said, I wouldn't pay them a penny if it wasn't law. I don't rate their service much excepting maybe Dr Who and a panel show or two, and that ain't worth 150 a year.

It is a start. Private VPNs will be harder to identify, but the commercial ones will just have a game of 'whack a mole' with the BBC.

I rarely watch BBC news, except when I am somewhere that only has BBC news 24 as one of its few channels, and I've been in many places where that is the case. I prefer sky news, who, IMHO, provide one of the best news service's going. In saying that I think the BBC news website is better than the sky news website.

Personally I find it the other way around for the coverage. The local BBC News is also nice to see too.

I get annoyed with the ad breaks on Sky News.

Sky news is far superior. But do watch a lot of bloomberg, cnn, Al-Jazeera and cbnc.
Rarely ever watch bbc news, just biased, stale and so old fashioned.
Do view the BBC news website and apps, but only because I have some involvement with their news app development.

Reuters UK is my news website of choice.
Do agree, the sky news and sports websites are poorly designed and lacking in easily navigable content.
