      New Faceplace

At the moment I have a MKII BT openreach faceplate. Im currently upgrading my internal home network infrastructure so I was thinking of upgrading the faceplate to a MKIII. Is it worth the upgrade, is the 3 compatible with the 2 interface and finally, would I see much difference in speed.
      Cheers

      Re: New Faceplace

I take it from your profile that you have ADSL broadband and not fibre. The only difference between the two faceplates is that the MkIII has better filtering. Unless you have a problem with noise or interference as indicated by frequent disconnects or a high D/L noise margin (>7dBs) the improved filtering is unlikely to make much difference to the speed. In fact on quiet lines with very low noise margins it could make the speed marginally worse.

      Re: New Faceplace

Ok, then perhaps you should update your profile as it states, "Broadband ISP: Sky Broadband Unlimited".
As to whether changing the filter is likely to effect the speed, it is difficult to tell without seeing your router stats.

      Re: New Faceplace

The MK3 has a more aggressive REIN filter. Apart from that the two are identical. The PCB & ADSL/vDSL filtering design is the same.
