      Sat ports in Flat.

I have 2 sat ports on the wallplate on my front room, however when I connect a Non Sky stb to them to get the FTA channels I get bugger all, I have an ex Sky HD box as well but sadly not with me.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's likely that the flats not patched into the communal dish unless sky/satellite service is specifically requested?

It's impossible to say. You would need to check with your landlord/managing agent.
Do you know whether your freesat box is serviceable ie. has it been used recently?
Is there a terrestrial TV aerial socket and if so does it work?

      Re: Sat ports in Flat.

The box worked last time I used it, could be the cable but sadly I didn't have another satellite patch lead to test with.

The terrestrial TV aerial socket does work, at first I thought it didn't but it seems there are 3 terrestrial sockets on the faceplate one labeled tv one labeled radio and one labeled return, confusingly the terrestrial signal is actually coming in on the one labeled Return, I think the TV one might be to feed RF back into the other rooms.

There are 2 sat ports on the faceplate, there are also single sat ports on the faceplates in the bedrooms but i've not tried those yet as I don't have a TV/monitor in that room that could accept the input from the STB.

Anyway I have a youview box connected to the terrestrial at the moment and that seems to work so I guess unless I decide to subscribe to Sky it's no big deal. More likely i'll just go the nowTV route as tbh they have the channels id most likely watch.
