Yes there should be only two wires (one each on A and B).

So long as you have a filter plugged directly into the master, then you have it as good as you can get for now.
The faceplate filter should improve things.

All faceplate filters are better than the "soap on a rope" type, so yes it should provide you with better line performance.

Lightbulb Re: Faceplate Info.

ADSL Nation,

What about the filter feature of the iPlate ? Is that included in the XTE-2005 ?
If not can i use the XTE-2005 in conjunction with the iPlate and will that (as i assume) produce the best combination because you have two types of filtering:
a) Bell wire / electrical interfeence i.e. iPlate
b) Extension wire / resistance and interfence i.e. XTE-2005

?

Thanks for your help

Re: ADSL Nation NTE-2005 Master face plate

The I-Plate funtions are also in the XTE-2005. The Xte-2005 will not physicaly fit the BT I-Plate

Re: ADSL Nation NTE-2005 Master face plate

As Brian has said there is no need to fit an ADSL faceplate AND an I Plate, some faceplates won't physically fit anyway. Fit a good quality BT approved faceplate like the one made by Pressac (NTE2000/ 2005) and you won't go far wrong. Either that or replace the front of the NTE5 with the latest spec with bell wire filter-does the exact same job as the I Plate without making the socket stick out even more. Note that not all NTE's have the bell wire filter!
