Re: Should I change faceplate

How To Get The Best Performance Your Line Can Offer.

(1) Get a filter faceplate and check that all you extensions are connected to it (if you remove the faceplate of you master to expose the test socket there should only be a dial tone at the test socket and not at any extensions) Check that any Sky boxes or alarm panels are also loose there dial tone with the test socket exposed.

(2) Place you router as close as possible to the filter faceplate, and connect to it with as short a cable as possible.

(3) Connect your router to computer using network cable or home plugs Dont use wireless unless you have to.

Your line attenuation suggest that you are more like over 2 Km from the exchange. remember wires can take assorts of twists and turns. Even so still close enough to get near max sync assuming your wirings is in tip top fettle. Also with a filtered face plate.
