Even with perfect wiring, a filtering faceplate can cause an increase in speed (see my previous comments on this). Your own wiring may be better than you think.

The connection in my master socket connects directly into the test socket so I'm assuming I won't see much benefit in trying the router cable in the test socket.

The test socket will exclude interference from any extensions (if you have any).

Hi all, my name is Darren from ADSLnation.

Seeing as the XTE-2005 is so popular with people on this forum I thought I'd sign up and let you know that there is a new revised date for delivery ofthe XTE-2005 of 10th of Oct.

Try it and see, for me the Master socket gave me the same results as an extension socket and the internal test socket doubled the speed (as all of my extensions were removed !!).

'ello Newsie!

Okay then - in my place, I've got a master socket, which then feeds to three extensions in the place.

All *you* did was just replace the master socket with this XTE-2005 thing, and wired it back in to your extension feeds... which you then no longer need microfilter on, because of the filtering faceplate?

...I think... Oh my brain...

yep if you wire the face plate up, you will no longer need filters at all
