Things I would improve

Reading this forum everyday, it would appear that one or two things are fundamently wrong with Sky Broadband.

1) Gaming pings, this is one of our most complained about subjects. How hard would it be to implement a profile for gamers?

2) No router received. This is the killer! Why not make sure that the despatch of the router is done the day before connection due date?

What I would do.

It doesn't take much for anyone to rectify the two main issues. Why not ask on signup what their connection will be used for? ie Surfing, Gaming, P2P, etc etc. It does not need to be intimate questioning, just common sense to get a general feel of what that person expects to use their connection for.

The router problem has to be the easiest problem ever to sort out, however it would appear it is beyond Sky. Why not simply give a temporary username and password so that the person without the beloved Sky Router could use their own?

There has to be a way of using a test username or password that could be generated on demand?

Come on Sky, make your service the one that applies to everyone!

I want to also see that Sky improve the wording on the letters that they send out when people first join up. A lot of people think that the username and password on them are needed for broadband access when this is not the case. Sky do not make this clear on the letter what they are for.

You would have thought that one year down the line a lot of these issues would have been ironed out and sorted/fixed.

It would appear that Sky are taking notice of public opinion.

"All

After reviewing the sky forums sites, recent escalations from customers and after discussions with Marketing, please can you implement the following

Should any customer be transferred to Tier 3 and request for their max delay levels to be decreased as a result of them using their broadband connection for Gaming, please arrange for this to be done. You should look to set their max delays at 8. Please ensure you leave the customer with a stable line after completing this."
