Today I received a phone call from the Sky Fibre team, apologising for my level of service I've experienced over the last 10 months regarding the "half speed issue".
He reassured me the Sky Fibre rollout "fix" on Feb 23rd had proved a success and this rollout was now being implemented toSky Fibre Unlimited customers on May 6th.
As compensation I was told £200 was being credited to my account immediately, and indeed I have verified this :)
This was confirmed by email a few minutes later , which Ive included below.


I shall keep this link updated come May6th and hopefully we can all finally draw the line under this long going Saga.

Going on past experience I would guess not.

You need to register the non sky account with the yahoo SMTP server. You will have had to do the same with Google at some time in the past.

THIS IS SOLVED!! at last

it was A copy of Zonealarm Security that was removed 6months ago the B@st*rds left zonealarm firewall hidden deep in the code of the operating system. i removed it with this tool and these steps


1.) Click Start -> Run
NOTE: If you do not have the Run option on the Start menu, you can press and hold the Windows logo key and tap the letter R .
2.) Type Msconfig in the run box
3.) Click OK
4.) Once in Msconfig, click the Startup Tab, and remove the checks from everything. (zonealarm refused the untick process just untick then apply then restart)
5.) Click the Service Tab, place a check in "Hide All Microsoft Services." Now remove checks from everything.(zonealarm refused the untick process just untick then apply then restart)
6.) Click OK
7.) Restart your computer
8.) Please use Internet Explorer and SAVE the ZoneAlarm clean tool from the link below:

9.) When the download box pops up, choose SAVE. In the next box, choose Save to Desktop then run the file from there and follow the on screen prompts to complete the uninstall. Be sure to restart your computer if prompted.
10.) Clear your Windows temporary file cache by following the steps below:
- Go to Start -> Run

- Type %temp% and click OK
- Select all of these files and delete them
- Empty your recycle bin
11.) Please ensure all critical and non-critical Windows updates are installed by going to Start->All Programs->Windows Update->Check for Updates. If there are updates available please install them, restart the computer, and check for updates again. Please continue this process until all updates are installed.

PS: run cleaner on all homegroup PC systems l did and a minute later all fine and working DAMNED ZONEALARM!
