Replacing Hub with TP-Link (help needed)

      Good Morning,

After having WiFi uses in my home I purchased a second router (TP-Link AC750) , turned off the Wifi on the SKY Hub (SR102) and everything has been going well.

The wife has been complaining about having two boxes sitting about and wants just one again. So this is where I need your help (and no I cant just simply get rid of the wife)

After using "Skyuser - Sky router login credentials extractor" and Wireshark I have extracted my Sky Username and Password. Then went into the Setup wizard of the TP-Link AC750 and popped them in, saved and it wont connect.

I checked about the internet and changed the MTU settings to 1500, have checked the VCI and Auth types and from what I can find out, everything should work. BUT, it does not.

Re: Replacing Hub with TP-Link (help needed)

Firstly, you need a router with a build in VDSL modem. Does yours have this? If this is the router you have, https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Wir...=ac750+tp+link you will need a VDSL model to connect to fibre.

This brings you back to the 2 box situation. If you want only one box then you will have o invest in a router with a built in VDSL modem which supports Sky's method of MER 60 & 61 authentication. There are several posts throughout the form with routers that are suitable.
