Configuration for 877 to work with Sky Fibre Unlimited

      Hi guys,

I currently have a Sky VDSL which comes into the property on copper but other leg of the line from cab is fibre and am currently trying to understand exactly what configuration I will require to get this working.

So far I have managed to grab PPP user and pass from wireshark however as far as the rest of the configuration goes i'm clueless. could anyone help?

sky doesn't use PPP if it's a vdsl connection over copper. slightly confused by your statement. .

sky wan config is "ip" along with option 61.

what are you trying to do?
      billion 8800nl V1 (bridge mode)
      Qotom i5 Opnsense with IPV6
      Asus RT-AC88U - as wap

It must be using PPP because I managed to grab the hostname and password from a wireshark capture.

I am trying to use my Cisco 877 instead of the Sky ER110 router that we have been supplied with so I can get a live lab going, Understanding this is going to break Sky's T&C's I going to keep my ER110 handy just in case of any line faults ect.

      Assuming you are on vdsl..

If the 877 has a modem ? then that might be a different story. If its just a router you need to have the wan port setup with IP and the ability to enter additional isp logon. Commonly known as option 61.

Just to clarify if you have a suituable vdsl modem in front of the router (if its acting as a router only) it won't use ppp..

my pfsense and opnsense router only devices are not using ppp with sky fibre.

Having a further look at this I am not to sure that the 877 supports VDSL2.

I had configured dialer interface with the PPP and CD light was flashing but i am unable to configure ethernet interfaces/sub interfaces due to the routers IOS.
