      Sky box stuck on standby - tried system update

      Hi.
      My Sky+HD box is stuck on standby. I've already tried a system update and turned everything off and on but nothing seems to work. Of course, I'd like to try all other possible solutions before doing the one that deletes all my saved data.
      Please help - I don't really want to be without telly for Christmas!

      The STB should take around 10 minutes to come out of Standby mode if you have unplugged it.

      Deleting any recordings isn't something that you can do at the present time as the box is stuck in standby mode, so don't worry about that one for now.

      When you performed the forced update, did the box display anything on your TV?

      If you have tried a standard reset as Scubbie has advised and it has not worked you may have to do a front panel reset as the link below explains.

      If this is successful it will delete your recordings.
