      Port forwarding from Easy Tomato

      Hello all!

Hi I'm a newbie here so pls pardon my ignorance!

Like many on the forum, I followed the instruction for "Using the DLink DIR613" with modification for Easy Tomato. It works all very well and has been stable for 1 year.

I just bought a CCTV kit which I would like to install link up to the network so that I can view remotely. However, I simply cannot get the port forwarding to work. I test the system using Open Port Check Tool and it always says "cannot see your service".

Any suggestion will be much appreciated!

This is one of the weakness of using that way of connecting. You are running into the double NAT problem which means looking from the internet the second router cannot be seen. I'm afraid I don't know a way around it. The only thing I can think of is to connect your cameras to the Sky router, that way they will be seen.

Re: Port forwarding from Easy Tomato

Thanks very much for the reply. I managed to work something out I think. I went in the firewall setting of the sky hub and forwarded everything to where my Tomato sits. I managed to see the open ports using the tool....

This is as far as I've gone so far. I suspect it will be ok.

Thanks for the brilliant guide you wrote btw. It's a life saver! The sky hub is so rubbish that I cannot even network print!
