Setting up Netgear dgm2200 with Sky

Hey first thread post here, been trying to connect my old trust worthy netgear router to my sky broadband which i've only been with for a month and to be honest i'm getting frustrated with the router. I used to be TalkTalk and used the netgear router and the speeds were excellent, the download speed and upload speed are the same for the sky router, but everything lags with one small download or someone streaming something. I'm getting really annoyed by it. I've successfully extracted the Log in details from the sky router, and inputted the details into my Netgear. The strange part is that it connects to Sky, the netgear even says its connected with a downstream and upstream speed. But it's still disconnected and no IP address is assigned, i'm guessing Sky must be refusing to give me an IP address cos they know it's a different router. My netgear allows me to easily change the MAC address on it, so i even used the exact mac address as my sky router, still no luck. It's PPPOA, with VC 0 - 38, always has been and i even noticed these settings inside the back up file for the sky router. But i'm pretty sure Sky is just blocking the router from obtaining an IP address. Can someone help me with this?

If they are you are the first out of thousands of users they are doing this to.

It is more likely you have something else wrong, most likely the username and/or the password. The password is obtained using the LAN address of the Sky router. Copy and paste this into the password generator, copy and paste the result to a document then copy and paste to your Netgear router. This removes any chance of making a mistake.

I looked at the back up settings off the sky router and its got it there plain as day the log in and password. The username ends with @skydsl and the password is just a bunch of random keys. So i know i'm using the right password and username. and a simple copy and paste is all that was required. This is what the netgear shows:http://puu.sh/HmVt. This is the IP part(IGNORE THE NETWORK TYPE I WAS TESTING, IT SHOULD BE PPPOA I KNOW I EVEN TRIED THAT) http://puu.sh/HmWM.

like isitme said i bet its something to do with username/password.i had exactly the same problem and it was because one of the letters was lower case instead of uppercase

I did think the password was encrypted in the settings, but I could be wrong.

Check by using the password generator here -
      Sky router password generator

Use the settings for the standard 2504, it will give you the correct result for the new router.
