Re: What non-Sky router will give me the best speed.

sorry Exdee. i meant i couldn't find a set up guide.
Tnx for that, Isitme. just found an email address to a guy at Billion. he has sent me the UK Quick Set Up Guide. if anyone wants, will upload here.
gonna order from your link, Exdee. after all the probs i have had with sky over the last 6 months, non of which were router related (i use a D-Link), having tried 2 of their routers to no effect, and loads of BT engineer call outs, still have probs with connection spit outs. maybe this will improve things.

Yes, by plugging an existing router into the Ethernet ports, although I would like to see screen dumps showing different IP ranges to confirm 100% or for someone to plug the 2504N into a modem.

Page 74 of the manual titled 'port triggering'.

Basically opening ports is to do with your firewall. Once you get your router. Just go through the firewall settings and you will be able to add custom rules for ports somewhere.

Re: What non-Sky router will give me the best speed.

just been sent the Uk setup guide for the router i ordered. dont suppose it is any different to your post, Isitme, but is available from here:

BiPAC 7700N User Manual - Powered by Kayako Fusion Help Desk Software

had a look through, but not too closely yet and am still confused as to whether the 'port triggering' section or the 'virtual server' section is used to add p2p use to the router settings. which is correct? what is the difference between the 2 sections? what is the 'other one' used for, if not p2p? sorry to be a bit dim, guys. totally different to the d-link i use.
