Help with Linksys WAG200G Anybody any ideas with connecting the Linksys WAG200G on SKY..??
Have got my user name and password via one of the hacks, entered this in the router along with the other settings, box powers up and gets the green lights for DSL and INTERNET, status reports connection fine.
Whenever I open an Internet Explorer window just get the message "Cannot display this web page"
Also other devices cannot connect to the internet via wireless...
Everything says it should work it just dosnt, do sky block it from working.???
Any help greatly appreciated..!!
PS Ive tried rebooting router comp and all no change, plug the sky supplied router back in and all works fine... apart from all the blackspots around the house which is why im trying this..lol

Re: Help with Linksys WAG200G
Can your router negotiate an Ip address? Go through the router stats and see if it has been able to obtain an ip address.

Re: Help with Linksys WAG200G
Does the WAG have different IP address from the Sky router? If so your devices may still be looking for the Sky router, especially if you are using fixed IP addresses on them. If they are make sure they are set to 'Obtain an IP address automatically'.
If you still fail to connect, try giving your PC a fixed address and reserve this in the router settings.

Re: Help with Linksys WAG200G
Thanks for the help. Sorted the problem and knew it had to be something stupid. While trying the above checked the router IP and it had one. Was checking and yes the ip of the new router was 192.168.1.1 and sky was 192.168.0.1 that not a problem in itself but the computer had been taken off auto detect and manually set to look for 192.168.0.1. guessed that when i noticed someone was using the wireless when i thought it didnt work lol... idiot.!!
Anyway no more blackspots and the wifes ipad now works in the garden...!!!!!!

Re: Help with Linksys WAG200G
Hi, I've trawled through every posting on here, and still can't get my WAG200G to log onto sky.
So... I was wondering if anyone could help me with the exact info needed, I can't get onto the 'blocked' sites to generate a new password. I tried the MAC number and serial number from the bottom of the new sky router, and they didn't work.
Sorry that this has been asked before, but I couldn't glean the info :-)

Re: Help with Linksys WAG200G
All the information you need is in this section - Extracting Sky Router passwords Unfortunately your router is one of the more difficult ones to obtain the password for, but it can be done.
