Unhappy home plugs/ router configuration

Hi
I wonder if anyone can shed some light a network issue im having.
I purchased 2 homeplugs and on the software that comes with it I have a seped of 75mb/s. However when i try to stream hd movies to my sumvision mkv media player it only connects on average 5 or 6 mbs.
What im basically asking is, is there any configuration on the sky router i need to do to speed this up as i cant stream any hd movies from the pc as the speed is too slow.
Any Advise would be very appreciated.

cheers

morry

Re: home plugs/ router configuration

You should do much better than that. I don't think there is anything you can do with the router, which can handle up to 100mbps. The problem would seem to be with the homeplugs. Are you using them in any kind of extension? Can you try in different sockets?

I have read that having a PSU plugged into the same socket can cause problems. I have also read that using encryption with some types of sockets slow them down drastically. If none of these fit your case, then it is possible the homeplugs themselves are faulty.

I have been considering buying one of these media players, so I will be interested in how your problem pans out.
