Putting the standard netgear firmware on a DG934

Admin note: new thread created

Can anyone help me please.

Hi, I bought a Netgear DG934 off ebay and I'm trying to put the standard netgear firmware on.

When I get to the part where I have to select the device there is nothing in the list even though the modem is connected ok and I can access it with the web interface.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: DG934 - Hacked - running official netgear firmware

Are you a PC with Vista on? If so try with a PC with XP on.

Re: Putting the standard netgear firmware on a DG934

I tried it on a laptop with XP and it didnt show any devices, I tried it on 2 XP PC's of my cousins and it did the overlay thing that others complained of.

I guess I just have to find a PC that the useless Netgear updater software works on.

I originally posted here DG934 - Hacked - running official netgear firmware

Now my posts makes no sense not being in the thread it was about.

It makes much more sense to have it in your own thread, rather than tacked onto one which has been running for months. After a while many just ignore additions to old threads.

Have a look at Post #10 in the thread you have linked to, it may hold the answer to your problem.

What method did you use to try the update? Did you use the Recovery tool or the router interface update?
