Can't access wireless

I have just purchased a replacement Sky router (a Sagem), but although it appears on my laptop as being a wireless access point, every time I try to log on with the correct password and all, it doesn't work. Is there a setting I need to adjust on the router? Or do you need further information than the pittance I've given you? :-)

Re: Can't access wireless

Who supplied the new router? Sky? If that's the case then you should use the password on the label but make sure you've entered the correct details. I undertand it's possible to enter 0 instead of O and I instead of 1. So take care. If in doubt go to the routers Wireless Set up and enter your own password where you can use exactly the correct details as you set them yourself. You enter the set up by typing 192.168.0.1 in your browsers address bar.

Erm you cannot "purchase" a Sky router as they should be sent out by sky for no cost. Where did you get this router? If it's on default WPA key then it's all letters, no number, al capitals.

Re: Can't access wireless

I assume you have purchase this from eBay. Are you able to connect to the internet with it? If it has not been flashed with non-Sky firmware you should be able to return it to the default settings by using a biro point to press the reset button on the rear for a few seconds. The default key will then be shown in capital letters. If this does not work, disable the Security and try to connect.

If your old router is faulty you should have asked Sky for a free replacement.
