Cannot Get PC To See PS3 When Trying To Setup Streaming

I am trying to set my PC up to stream mp3's etc to my PC using Windows Media Player 11. When I select Media Sharing in Windows Media Player 11 (obviously with the PS3 switched on), nothing is being displayed in the window, it should list as unkown device. I also have Zonealarm on my PC but have tried switching it off and this does not help. The Windows Firewall is also disabled. I have the media server connection enabled on the PS3. I was wondering do I need to set up some kind of service/rule for using the PS3 with my Netgear Router? Thankyou for any advice please.

I read on another forum that the Netgear 834 router can be troublesome with the PS3. Just wondered is anybody else using it and what are there settings. Just a shame that I cannot choose my own router to use with Sky Obviously I know there is ways around this, but just so annoying.
