Weird Connection Problem

Hi all

I have been having this problem with my broadband for nearly a month now, have been with sky for about 2 years and my broadband has been troble free.

It all started about a month ago, my connecion kept droping out after about 5 mins on the internet, close down IE then go straight back on and everything is fine for about 5-10mins, then it loses connection again. This happens all through the day non stop, never letting me stay connected for longer than 30 mins at any one time.

The weird thing is, if i am just viewing pages over the net then i keep getting dissconnected, BUT if i run Utorrent and am downloading or just uploading i get a great connection! but as soon as i try to surf the net at the same time the problem comes back, after 5-10mins IE goes off and Utorrent stops downloading/uploading. and as soon as i come off IE my Torrents kick back in again but not the other way round, i have to come off IE.

I thought it might be something in IE 7 but i have never had this problem before, i get the same problem even after reformating and changing from XP to Vista. i must have formated about half adozen times over the last month, i have had a new router of Sky {no difference} they have checked my line {no problems} my router is plugged into the master socket {no extensions} my download speeds {as long as i check it in the first 5 mins} is always very good, i never have problems with downloading or uploading, its just IE that seems to be having a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated {dont want to change from IE if i can help it}

Re: Weird Connection Problem

Can you confirm if these stats are taken from the test socket which is behind the master socket. You also need to provide your full stats if you are using the netgear 1 router

Re: Weird Connection Problem

I am just having a problem getting my detailed stats, have downloaded and installed "Mossywell's Bounce Sky Router" but it keeps saying it "WARNING, Problem communicating with router. Auto-reboot functionality is now disabled"

if Bounce sky router is running, then i cant connect to the net, if i exit it i can connect.

And my router is plugged into the test socket behind the master socket.
